Abstract:V sodobnih poslovnih okoljih so znanje in spretnosti zaposlenih postali eden najpomembnejših dejavnikov konkurenčnosti organizacije in dolgoročnega uspeha. Teoretični del diplomskega dela predstavlja koncept motivacije, dejavnike motivacije in različne teorije motivacije, vključno z Maslowovo hierarhijo potreb, Herzbergovo dvofaktorsko teorijo, Vroomovo teorijo pričakovanja in McGregorjevo teorijo X in Y. Poleg tega se razpravlja o pomembnosti izobraževanja zaposlenih in vseživljenjskega učenja v sodobnih organizacijah.

Title:Motivation for education at DB Schenker plc.
Abstract:In modern business environments, the knowledge and skills of employees have become one of the most important factors of an organization’s competitiveness and long-term success. Due to rapid technological development, globalization, and constant changes in the labor market, continuous education and professional development of employees are becoming increasingly important. Employee motivation therefore plays a key role in encouraging participation in educational and training programs. This thesis focuses on the analysis of motivation for education among employees in the company DB Schenker d. d. The main objective of the research was to identify the key factors that motivate employees to participate in additional education and to determine potential barriers that could reduce their willingness to engage in educational activities. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the concept of motivation, motivational factors, and various motivation theories, including Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Herzberg’s two-factor theory, Vroom’s expectancy theory, and McGregor’s Theory X and Theory Y. In addition, the importance of employee education and lifelong learning in modern organizations is discussed. The empirical part of the research is based on a quantitative survey conducted among employees of DB Schenker d. d. A total of 39 employees participated in the research. The results of the study show that the most important motivational factors for additional education are higher salary, acquisition of new knowledge and skills, and better opportunities for career advancement. Personal satisfaction and personal development were also identified as important motivational factors. The results of the study indicate that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors significantly influence employees’ willingness to participate in educational programs. The findings may serve as a useful basis for improving employee education strategies and for developing more effective motivational approaches within the organization.
