Abstract:Temni splet je del interneta, dostopen prek posebnih spletnih brskalnikov, ki omogočajo anonimno komunikacijo in izmenjavo informacij.

Title:Nevarnost temnega spleta : diplomsko delo visokošolskega študijskega programa Varnost in policijsko delo
Abstract:The dark web is a part of the internet accessible through special browsers that enable anonymous communication and information exchange. This opens up a wide range of uses, from lawful to unlawful activities, while simultaneously exposing users to risks such as cyberattacks, data theft, and government surveillance. It enables both legal and illegal activities and is associated with risks such as cyberattacks, data theft, and surveillance. In the Slovenian context, research on this topic remains limited; therefore, this thesis examines usage, user concerns, and perceived risks. The study analyzes how often and in what ways Slovenian users access the dark web, what types of content they use, and their experiences with illegal content. It also examines their main concerns and perceptions of the advantages and disadvantages of the dark web. A quantitative study was conducted using an online survey among adult internet users in Slovenia. The results show that users often turn to the dark web for anonymity and privacy protection, but they also associate it with significant risks, particularly cyber threats and legal consequences. The most common reasons for its use are curiosity and access to specific content. Users also express concerns about security and the legality of their actions. Based on the findings, guidelines were developed to raise awareness of security risks and the importance of protecting privacy. Measures to improve digital security are proposed, including educational initiatives, the use of VPNs and encryption, and programs for schools and universities. Additionally, improvements in legislation and security mechanisms are suggested to prevent illegal activities and promote responsible use of the dark web.
