Abstract:Napredne komunikacijske tehnologije, standardi ter direktive Evropske unije na področju kibernetske varnosti, pomembno prispevajo k trajnostni mobilnosti in operativni učinkovitosti. Omogočajo bolj tekoč promet, zmanjšujejo zastoje in sunkovite manevre, kar posledično zmanjšuje emisije ogljikovega dioksida, dušikovih oksidov in trdnih delcev ter pozitivno vpliva na okolje in zdravje prebivalcev. Poleg tega podaljšujejo življenjsko dobo baterij in elektronskih sistemov, zmanjšujejo potrebo po servisih ter izboljšujejo rabo energije. Standardi prispevajo k stabilnemu delovanju sistemov, zmanjšujejo število napak, izrednih odpoklicev in stroškov vzdrževanja, kar povečuje zanesljivost in učinkovitost logističnih procesov.

Title:Protocols and standards for remote vehicle management to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency
Abstract:Advanced communication technologies, standards, and European Union directives in the field of cybersecurity, significantly contribute to sustainable mobility and operational efficiency. They enable smoother traffic flow, reduce congestion and abrupt maneuvers, and consequently decrease emissions of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter, thereby benefiting both the environment and public health. In addition, they extend the lifespan of batteries and electronic systems, reduce maintenance needs, and improve energy efficiency. Standards contribute to stable system operation, reduce errors, exceptional recalls, and maintenance costs, which increases the reliability and efficiency of logistics processes. The main limitations include the fragmentation of standards, unclear performance evaluation criteria, insufficient inclusion of older vehicles, slow updating of standards, and limited supply chain oversight. Proposed improvements include better harmonization of standards into a unified framework, regular evaluation of their effectiveness, implementation of basic protection mechanisms for older vehicles, and faster adaptation of standards to emerging security threats. This would enhance cybersecurity, the stability of traffic systems, and environmental efficiency, while reducing costs and risks for all road users.
