Abstract:V magistrskem delu so predstavljena narečna poimenovanja zdravilnih rastlin, zbrana s terensko raziskavo po vaseh Mirnske in Temeniške doline. V tem območju se govori vzhodnodolenjsko podnarečje dolenjske narečne skupine. Izbrane vasi smo predstavili z geografskega in zgodovinskega vidika, saj so prav naravne danosti in preteklost vplivali na razvoj jezika teh krajev. Narečna poimenovanja zdravilnih rastlin predstavljajo pomemben del nesnovne kulturne dediščine. So vpogled v preteklost ter pričajo o tem, kako so ljudje nekoč razumeli in uporabljali določene rastline. Rastlinske vrste so razvrščene po botaničnem sistemu Male flore Slovenije z dodanimi poknjiženimi narečnimi poimenovanji in fonetičnimi zapisi. Informatorji so prepoznali 105 rastlinskih vrst in zanje navedli 217 narečnih poimenovanj. Osrednji del magistrskega dela predstavlja analiza rastlinskih vrst z jezikoslovnega (besedotvorni, dialektološki, etimološki, frazeološki) in kulturološkega (etnološki, simbolni) vidika. Dokumentiranost narečnih poimenovanj smo preverili v Slovarju slovenskega knjižnega jezika, Pleteršnikovem slovarju, Slovenskem etimološkem slovarju, Bezlajevem slovarju in Slovarju slovenskih frazemov. Z zbranim gradivom smo dokumentirali velik del vzhodnodolenjskih narečnih poimenovanj zdravilnih rastlin ter s tem prispevali k ohranjanju narečne in etnobotanične dediščine.

Title:Dialectal names for medicinal plants in selected speeches of Eastern Lower Carniola
Abstract:This master's thesis presents dialectal names for medicinal plants collected through field research conducted in the villages of the Mirna and Temenica valleys. In this area, the Eastern Lower Carniolan subdialect of the Lower Carniolan dialect group is spoken. The selected villages are presented from geographical and historical perspectives, as natural conditions and historical development have significantly influenced the evolution of the local language. Dialectal names for medicinal plants represent an important part of intangible cultural heritage. They provide insight into the past and testify to how people once understood and used plants. The plant species are classified according to the botanical system of Mala flora Slovenije, with standardized dialectal names and phonetic transcriptions added. Informants identified 105 plant species and provided 217 dialectal names for them. The central part of the thesis consists of an analysis of the plant species from both linguistic (word-formation, dialectology, etymology, and phraseology) and cultural (ethnology and symbolism) perspectives. The documented dialectal names were looked up in the following dictionaries: Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika, Pleteršnikov slovar, Slovenski etimološki slovar, Bezlajev slovar, and Slovar slovenskih frazemov. The analysis showed that a large proportion of the dialectal words appear in standard dictionaries, while a smaller share of names not recorded in standard dictionaries demonstrates strong local specificity. Most of the collected lexemes are of Proto-Slavic origin. The majority of borrowed lexemes originate from Germanic languages, followed by Romance languages. In Slovar simbolov, symbolic meanings were found for approximately one fifth of the identified plant species. Informants also provided information on the uses of plant species, which were categorized according to different areas of application. Most plant species are used in folk medicine, followed by nutrition and decorative purposes. With the collected material, we documented a substantial part of the Eastern Lower Carniolan dialectal names for medicinal plants, thereby contributing to the preservation of dialectal and ethnobotanical heritage.
