Abstract:Proizvodnja električne energije iz obnovljivih virov spodbuja razvoj razpršene proizvodnje, saj vključuje manjše proizvodne enote, ki so priključene neposredno v distribucijsko omrežje bliže porabnikom.

Title:Three-Phase inverter with grid-following and grid-forming functionalities
Abstract:The production of electricity from renewable energy sources promotes the development of distributed generation, as it involves smaller generation units that are connected directly to the distribution grid closer to consumers. To connect these systems to the existing grid, power converters are required that adapt the energy transmission within the power system or enable island operation. In this context, two basic types of converter control are distinguished: grid-following mode and grid-forming mode. The last one is indispensable to establish island operation of a microgrid. These master's thesis presents a control algorithm for a three-phase inverter with both grid-following and grid forming functionalities, allowing the seamless transition between the two control modes as well as the transition from parallel to island operation of a microgrid. The operation of the control algorithm was verified through simulation as well as by experiments performed on a modular power electronics converter.
Keywords:microgrid, three-phase inverter, grid-following control, grid-forming control, transition between grid-following and grid-forming operation, control scheme
