Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava področje izračunavanja emisij toplogrednih plinov v cestnem tovornem transportu na primeru podjetja Jančič transport.

Title:Application of the GLEC methodology for the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions in road transport
Abstract:The thesis addresses the issue of greenhouse gas emissions calculation in road freight transport based on the case of the company Jančič transport. The theoretical part presents the basic concepts of sustainable development in transport and an overview of the most important methodologies for emission calculation, with special emphasis on the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) methodology. The practical part presents the calculation of emissions based on data on distance travelled, fuel consumption and the characteristics of the company’s transport activities. The analysis focuses on the environmental impact of transport processes and on the factors that influence the amount of greenhouse gas emissions. Special attention is also given to the possibilities for reducing emissions, such as the optimization of transport processes, the reduction of empty trips, and the more efficient use of vehicles. The thesis contributes to a better understanding of the impact of emission measurements in the transport sector and highlights the importance of using standardized methodologies for planning measures in the field of sustainable logistics development.
