Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava optimizacijo sestave in analizo zelenega ultra visoko zmogljivega betona (UHPC) z dodatkom bazaltnih vlaken. Namen raziskave je bil razviti trajnostnejšo UHPC mešanico z zmanjšanim okoljskim vplivom, ki hkrati ohranja visoke mehanske in trajnostne lastnosti materiala. Poseben poudarek je bil namenjen vplivu mikrosilike, metakaolina in bazaltnih vlaken na lastnosti sveže in strjene betonske mešanice. V raziskavi so bile uporabljene sodobne metode načrtovanja sestave betona, predvsem metoda mokrega zgoščevanja delcev (Wet Particle Packing Method), s katero je bilo določeno optimalno vodovezivno razmerje posameznih mešanic.

Title:Optimizing the composition and analysis of green ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) with basalt fibers
Abstract:This master's thesis investigates the optimization and analysis of green Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) reinforced with basalt fibers. The main objective of the research was to develop a more sustainable UHPC mixture with reduced environmental impact while maintaining high mechanical performance and durability. Special emphasis was placed on the influence of silica fume, metakaolin, and basalt fibers on the properties of fresh and hardened concrete mixtures. Modern concrete mix design approaches were used in the study, particularly the Wet Particle Packing Method, which was applied to determine the optimal water-to-binder ratio of the mixtures. The experimental program included tests of density, flow spread, compressive strength, and flexural strength, as well as microstructural analyses using SEM-EDS and XRD methods. The results showed that the incorporation of silica fume and metakaolin improved particle packing density and enhanced the mechanical properties of UHPC. The addition of basalt fibers contributed to improved flexural strength, increased ductility, and reduced crack propagation. It was also found that the optimal fiber content significantly affects the workability of the fresh mixture and the final mechanical performance of the composite. The research contributes to the development of sustainable high-performance cementitious composites and confirms the potential use of basalt fibers in environmentally friendly UHPC materials.
