Abstract:Magistrsko delo primerja mehansko in kemijsko recikliranje plastomagnetov na osnovi PLA/Nd-Fe-B. Vzorci so bili izdelani z ekstruzijo in injekcijskim brizganjem.

Title:Mechanical and chemical recycling of bonded magnets with a polylactic acid-based matrix
Abstract:The master's thesis compares mechanical and chemical recycling of PLA/Nd-Fe-B-based plastic magnets. The samples were produced by extrusion and injection molding. Characterization of magnetic and mechanical properties was performed. Mechanical recycling involved repeated grinding and thermo-mechanical reprocessing, while chemical recycling involved the hydrolysis of PLA in a water/ethanol solution at elevated temperature. The results of mechanical recycling show that mechanical properties gradually decrease with an increasing number of recycling cycles, whereas magnetic properties remain almost unchanged. In chemical recycling, the mechanical properties are relatively well preserved, while the magnetic properties degrade more significantly as a result of Nd-Fe-B particle oxidation. Hydrolysis proved to be an effective method for separating the powder from the matrix; however, to preserve magnetic properties, the Nd-Fe-B particles would need to be protected against oxidation.
