Title:An overview of digital solutions for sustainable mobility: a scoping study from a user perspective
Abstract:Digital mobility platforms and the concept of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) are increasingly recognised as important enablers of sustainable transport systems. However, existing solutions remain highly heterogeneous, and there is limited structured insight into how these platforms are designed from a user perspective. This paper presents a scoping study that systematically maps digital mobility platforms related to sustainable mobility and analyses their key design characteristics. The platforms are examined across four analytical dimensions: functionalities, content and information architecture, user experience and user interface design (UX/UI), and motivational and reward mechanisms. A predefined analytical framework supports comparative and descriptive analysis. The results reveal recurring patterns in core functionalities and information structures, alongside substantial variation in UX/UI quality and in the implementation of motivational mechanisms. The findings highlight the importance of integrating user experience principles, clear information design, and well-aligned motivational mechanisms, while also providing a structured basis for further research and solution development within the ADCCAM2ZERO project.
