Metode: Izvedli smo pregled literature v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, ScienceDirect, CINAHL Ultimate in Cochrane Library. Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo dela. Potek iskanja literature smo ponazorili s PRISMA diagramom. Vključene raziskave smo predstavili v obliki evalvacijske in sintezne tabele.

Title:Depression as a consequence of cyberbullying among adolescents
Abstract:Introduction: The use of digital technologies is an important part of contemporary adolescence; however, it also brings risks such as cyberbullying and its impact on mental health. This thesis aims to examine the relationship between digital technology use, cyberbullying, and depressive symptoms in adolescents. Methods: We conducted a literature review in the PubMed, ScienceDirect, CINAHL Ultimate, and Cochrane Library databases. We limited our search to articles in English and studies using quantitative methodologies. We used a descriptive research method. We illustrated the literature search process using a PRISMA diagram. We presented the included studies in the form of evaluation and synthesis tables. Results: We analysed nine studies. The results show that cyberbullying is associated with an increased risk of depression, anxiety, and other psychological distress in adolescents. Victims are the most affected, although effects are also present among perpetrators. Cyberbullying is linked to poorer psychosocial well-being, loneliness, and depressive mood. Factors influencing this relationship include psychological insecurity, self-esteem, and social and family support. Mindfulness and support from close others act as protective factors. Discussion and conclusion: Cyberbullying is associated with depressive symptoms in adolescents, while other consequences are less well studied; therefore, further research is needed to better understand influencing factors and their effects.
