Negativna percepcija povezana s stigmatizacijo, stereotipi in pomanjkanjem empatije vodi v slabšo komunikacijo in nižjo kakovost oskrbe, medtem ko pozitivna percepcija omogoča bolj celostno in k pacientu usmerjeno obravnavo. Razprava in zaključek: Za izboljšanje obravnave so ključni dodatno izobraževanje, zmanjševanje stigme ter izboljšanje organizacijskih pogojev. Rezultati prispevajo k boljšemu razumevanju problematike in predstavljajo izhodišče za nadaljnje raziskovanje ter izboljšanje klinične prakse.

Title:Healthcare management of people with drug dependence in the emergency settings
Abstract:The treatment of people addicted to drugs in emergency care is challenging and is influenced by healthcare professionals’ perceptions, knowledge, and organizational factors. The aim of the thesis was to investigate how the already mentioned professionals’ perceptions are related to the medical treatment of people addicted to drugs. Methods: A literature review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. The literature search was performed in the PubMed, CINAHL, ScienceDirect, and Cochrane databases. The selected articles were analysed using content analysis, in which the data were coded and grouped into subcategories and main category. Results: Six studies were included in the final analysis. The results show that healthcare workers perceptions significantly influence the quality of care. Negative perceptions associated with stigma, stereotypes, and lack of empathy, lead to poorer communication and lower quality of care, while positive perceptions enable a more holistic and patient-centred approach. Discussion and conclusion: Additional education, stigma reduction, and better organizational conditions are key to better treatment. The results improve the understanding of the issue and provide a basis for further research and clinical practice improvement.
