Abstract:Uvod: Depresija predstavlja eno najpogostejših duševnih motenj in pomemben javnozdravstveni problem. Mobilne aplikacije so prispevale k zmanjšanju depresivnih simptomov in izboljšanju kakovosti življenja. Potrebne so nadaljnje raziskave o njihovi dolgoročni učinkovitosti, sprejemljivosti in angažiranosti uporabnikov.

Title:Mobile applications for supporting adults with mild to moderate depressive symptoms: an integrative literature review
Abstract:Introduction: Depression is one of the most common mental disorders and an important public health issue. Due to their accessibility and the possibility of independent use, mobile applications are increasingly used to support adults with mild to moderate depressive symptoms. The aim of this master's thesis was to examine their effectiveness, characteristics, and user acceptability. Methods: An integrative literature review was conducted. Literature was searched in the PubMed, SAGE Journals, and ScienceDirect databases. The study selection process was presented using a PRISMA flow diagram, and the methodological quality of the studies was assessed using Joanna Briggs Institute tools. Results: Eight studies were included in the final analysis. Mobile applications contributed to reducing depressive symptoms and improving quality of life. The most effective applications incorporated cognitive behavioural therapy, mood monitoring, and personalised support. Low user engagement and reduced adherence to app use were also identified. Discussion and conclusion: Mobile applications represent an accessible complement to existing forms of support for individuals with depressive symptoms. Further research is needed on their long-term effectiveness, acceptability, and user engagement.
