Podatki so bili zbrani z dvema preverjanjema, pri katerih so otroci prepoznavali začetne in končne glasove na sličicah. Izdelali in uvedli smo tri avtorske didaktične igre, namenjene razvijanju glasovnega zavedanja. Igre so otrokom omogočale utrjevanje začetnih in končnih glasov v besedah.

Title:Phonemic awareness of preschool children: identification of initial and final sounds in a word
Abstract:The purpose of the thesis was to investigate the impact of didactic games on the development of phonological awareness in preschool children, with a particular focus on the recognition of initial and final sounds in words. Children learn most effectively through play, as it encourages active participation and supports the development of various language skills. The study aimed to determine whether didactic games have a positive effect on children's ability to recognize and identify initial and final sounds. The study involved 15 children aged between five and six years. The first assessment was conducted in December 2025, while the second assessment took place in March 2026, with an interval of approximately three months between the two. Data were collected through two picture-based assessments of initial and final sound identification. Three original didactic games designed to promote the development of phonological awareness were created and implemented. These games enabled children to practice and reinforce their recognition of initial and final sounds in words. The results of the study showed that the use of didactic games contributed to greater success in recognizing initial and final sounds and had a positive effect on the development of phonological awareness in preschool children.
