Abstract:Hitra moda predstavlja velik izziv zaradi potrošniške kulture, ki spodbuja pogosto in impulzivno nakupovanje oblačil, kar vodi do velike količine tekstilnih odpadkov in negativnih vplivov na okolje. Podatki so bili zbrani z uporabo spletnega anketnega vprašalnika, razvitim v orodju 1KA.

Title:Consumer culture and the accumulation of clothing waste
Abstract:Fast fashion represents a significant challenge due to a consumer culture that encourages frequent and impulsive clothing purchases, leading to large amounts of textile waste and negative environmental impacts. Because of these environmental consequences, sustainable fashion is becoming an increasingly important topic that requires attention from both consumers and the fashion industry. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the purchasing habits and attitudes of respondents towards sustainable fashion. The study was conducted between April and May 2025 and involved 102 respondents who answered questions about their buying habits, clothing management and recognition of sustainable practices. The data were collected using an online survey questionnaire developed with the 1KA tool. The results provide insight into actual consumer behavior patterns and enable the formulation of concrete recommendations for reducing textile waste, which is beneficial for both policymakers and companies in the fashion industry. The results showed that younger consumers tend to prioritize low price and less frequently buy second-hand clothing, whereas older consumers place greater emphasis on quality and eco-friendly materials. While most respondents are aware of the environmental impacts of the textile industry, differences in purchasing habits between age groups were observed. The conclusions of the thesis highlight the need for increased awareness and promotion of sustainable shopping, especially among younger generations. Recommendations include educational activities and support for the circular economy, which could help reduce the negative impacts of the fashion industry on the environment. In conclusion, the main research objectives were achieved, while also emphasizing the ongoing need for further consumer awareness.
