V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni pojem vodenja, razvoj teorij in stilov vodenja ter koncept uslužnega vodenja z njegovimi ključnimi avtorji, elementi, s prednostmi in z uporabo v sodobnih organizacijah.

Title:Servant leadership in the role of vice-dean for student affairs
Abstract:This thesis examines servant leadership in the role of Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the University of Maribor. The theoretical section presents the concept of leadership, the development of leadership theories and styles, and the concept of servant leadership, including its key elements, advantages and application in modern organisations. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and the importance of interpersonal relationships and cooperation within the student representative body. In the empirical part, a quantitative study was conducted using a questionnaire among current and former Vice-Deans for Student Affairs at the University of Maribor, alongside a qualitative study in the form of semi-structured interviews with the former Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Economics and Business Faculty of the University of Maribor. The research findings indicate that elements of servant leadership are distinctly present among vice-deans for student affairs, although the majority of participants were unfamiliar with the concept of servant leadership prior to taking up their posts. The most prominent elements were helping and supporting others, listening, ethical conduct and building high-quality interpersonal relationships. It was also found that the application of elements of servant leadership has a positive impact on cooperation, mutual trust and the effectiveness of student councils. This study represents one of the first examinations of servant leadership in the field of student representation at the University of Maribor and shows that this leadership style is well suited to working with students and makes a significant contribution to the successful functioning of student representative bodies.
