Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava uporabo programske opreme Siemens Opcenter APS za napredno planiranje in razporejanje proizvodnje.

Title:Application of siemens opcenter aps software for production scheduling in a manufacturing company
Abstract:This master's thesis examines the use of Siemens Opcenter APS software for advanced production planning and scheduling. Its starting point is the gap between the theoretical capability of modern advanced planning and scheduling (APS) systems and their effective use in practice, which is particularly pronounced in small and medium-sized enterprises. The main objective is to develop a structured methodical guide for building a digital factory model in Siemens Opcenter APS, from entering basic resources and calendars through technological routings to scheduling configuration and troubleshooting. The guide is validated on a real case study of a plastic injection moulding company, where the model comprised 149 work orders with 298 operations on seven machines. Four scheduling scenarios were carried out and compared. The results show that simply changing the scheduling rule from priority to due date eliminates tardiness without additional investment, while also revealing the schedule's sensitivity to setup times and bottleneck failures, as well as the limitations of the licence level used. Input data quality is identified as the main implementation bottleneck. The thesis confirms that a structured approach to APS implementation is meaningful and effective also for small and medium-sized enterprises and bridges the gap between operational planning theory and its practical digital realisation.
