Abstract:V diplomskem delu je obravnavan armiranobetonski podporni zid. Glavni namen naloge je preveriti stabilnost zidu in določiti potrebno armaturo. Najprej so predstavljene osnovne značilnosti podpornih zidov, zemeljski pritiski, stabilnost in odvodnjavanje.

Title:Stability analysis and design of a reinforced concrete retaining wall
Abstract:The diploma thesis deals with a reinforced concrete retaining wall. The main purpose of the thesis is to check the stability of the wall and determine the required reinforcement. First, the basic characteristics of retaining walls, earth pressures, stability and drainage are presented. Then, a control analytical calculation is carried out, where overturning, sliding, eccentricity and the bearing capacity of the foundation soil are checked. The same case is then analysed using the GEO5 software. The same input data as in the manual calculation were used in the program. This enabled a comparison between the analytical and software calculations. The reinforcement design of the wall stem was also carried out separately. The results show that the selected retaining wall is adequate with regard to the overturning and sliding. The bearing capacity condition of the foundation soil is also fulfilled. The selected reinforcement satisfies the required reinforcement area. It was found that GEO5 allows a quick and clear check of retaining walls, but the basic analytical calculation is still important for understanding the results.
