V empiričnem delu diplomskega dela smo predstavili stališča in izkušnje, pridobljene s pomočjo kvalitativne raziskave, v kateri so sodelovali starši in učitelji glasbene šole.

Title:The role of parents and teachers in encouraging children’s interest in playing musical instruments
Abstract:In the thesis, we focused on the role of parents and teachers in encouraging students' interest in learning to play musical instruments at music school. The aim of the research was to examine how cooperation between home and school, together with coordinated strategies, influences the maintenance of students' motivation and helps them overcome challenges throughout their music education. In the theoretical part, we presented the importance of music education, the characteristics of the development of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, the importance of self-regulation in instrumental practice, and the indispensable role of adults within the didactic triangle. Special attention was given to the influence of a supportive family environment on the development of regular practice routines, as well as to teachers' methods of adapting repertoire, providing ongoing feedback, and preparing students psychologically for public performances in order to help them manage stage fright. In the empirical part of the thesis, we presented the views and experiences obtained through qualitative research involving parents and teachers from a music school. Based on semi-structured interviews, we analysed their approaches to addressing students' declining motivation, their methods of communication, and the importance of parental involvement in the child's music education. We systematically organized and analysed our observations and interviewees' responses using research questions and hypotheses. The analysis of the results showed that coordinated efforts between parents and teachers significantly contribute to overcoming initial resistance to practice and strengthens their self-confidence on stage. We found that quick, informal communication acts as a key factor. While modern digital applications are available, they are not yet used consistently in practice. Therefore, genuine and warm interpersonal relationship still plays the primary role in maintaining students' interest and motivation.
