Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava vpliv konstrukcijskih rešitev na uniformnost toka dimnih plinov v industrijskem dimniku z uporabo numeričnih simulacij računalniške dinamike tekočin (RDT). Obravnavan je primer dimnika v obratu za proizvodnjo mineralne volne, pri katerem je zaradi povečanja proizvodnih zmogljivosti predvidena izvedba dodatnega priklopa. Takšna zasnova povzroča neenakomerno porazdelitev hitrosti in povečano vrtinčenje toka, kar lahko onemogoča izpolnjevanje zahtev standarda SIST EN 15259 glede ustreznosti merilnega mesta. V okviru naloge so analizirane različne konfiguracije priklopov in notranjih tokovnih usmerjevalnikov z namenom doseči zadostno uniformnost toka ob čim manjšem povečanju tlačnih izgub.

Title:Influence of structural design solutions on the uniformity of flue gas flow in an industrial chimney – a numerical analysis
Abstract:Master's thesis investigates the influence of structural design solutions on the uniformity of flue gas flow in an industrial chimney using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The study focuses on a chimney in a mineral wool production plant, where the installation of an additional flue gas inlet is required due to increased production capacity. Such a configuration results in a non-uniform velocity distribution and increased flow swirl, which may prevent compliance with the requirements of the SIST EN 15259 standard regarding the suitability of the sampling location. The thesis analyzes various inlet configurations and internal flow straighteners with the aim of achieving sufficient flow uniformity while minimizing the increase in pressure loss. The numerical model is developed using the Ansys Fluent software package with the SST k–ω turbulence model, and its reliability is verified through a grid independence study. In addition to the single-phase flow model, the influence of heat transfer and water vapor condensation on the flow field is also investigated.
