Abstract:V magistrskem delu smo preučevali zaznani pritisk staršev in trenerjev ter predtekmovalno anksioznost pri mladih nogometaših, starih od 9 do 14 let. Med mlajšimi (9–11 let) in starejšimi nogometaši (12–14 let) ni bilo statistično značilnih razlik v zaznanem pritisku staršev in trenerjev, medtem ko so mlajši nogometaši poročali o značilno višji ravni predtekmovalne anksioznosti.

Title:Perceived parental and coach pressure and pre-competition anxiety in youth football players (aged 9–14)
Abstract:This master's thesis examines the perceived pressure exerted by parents and coaches and the level of pre-competition anxiety among young football players aged 9 to 14. The aim of the study was to determine the level of perceived parental and coach pressure and pre-competition anxiety, examine age-related differences in these variables, and investigate the relationship between the perceived pressure of significant adults and pre-competition anxiety. The study included 100 male youth football players aged around 12 years from various football clubs in the Podravska region. Data were collected using a questionnaire developed for this study and analysed using the IBM SPSS statistical software package. The results showed that the most prominent symptoms of pre-competition anxiety were fear of poor performance and concerns about making mistakes. No statistically significant differences were found between younger (9–11 years) and older (12–14 years) football players regarding the perceived pressure exerted by parents and coaches, while younger football players reported significantly higher levels of pre-competition anxiety. Pre-competition anxiety was also strongly and positively associated with both perceived parental pressure and perceived coach pressure. The findings highlight the importance of supportive behaviour by parents and coaches, particularly when working with younger football players.
