Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava primerjalno analizo izbranih kazalnikov ženskega podjetništva v Sloveniji in Evropski uniji.

Title:Comparative analysis of selected indicators of women’s entrepreneurship in Slovenia and the European union
Abstract:The diploma thesis deals with a comparative analysis of selected indicators of women’s entrepreneurship in Slovenia and the European Union. Women’s entrepreneurship is important for women’s economic activity, the development of business activities, and a more inclusive economy, although women’s entrepreneurial potential often remains less fully expressed than that of men. The thesis discusses the theoretical background of women’s entrepreneurship, the factors and barriers influencing its development, and the indicators used to compare Slovenia with the European Union or with the EU Member States included in the GEM survey. The analysis includes women’s self-employment, total early-stage entrepreneurial activity, perceived entrepreneurial opportunities, perceived capabilities for starting a business, and fear of failure. The results show that the share of self-employed women in Slovenia is lower than the share of self-employed men and lower than the European Union average. Total early-stage entrepreneurial activity among women in Slovenia is also lower than the average of the EU Member States included in the GEM survey. Slovenia performs above the comparison average in terms of both perceived entrepreneurial opportunities and perceived capabilities for starting a business, while fear of failure is, on average, slightly more pronounced over the analysed period. The main conclusion is that Slovenia still has room for improvement in the development of women’s entrepreneurship, especially in encouraging actual entrepreneurial activity among women.
