Abstract:V magistrskem delu so obravnavane izletne cone kot element pasivne prometne varnosti na območju avtocestnih priključkov in priključkov hitrih cest.

Title:Design of gravel arrester beds at motorway interchange ramps
Abstract:This master's thesis addresses arrester beds (runaway truck ramps, escape ramps) as an element of passive road safety on motorway interchanges. The aim of the study was to analyse the possibilities of their implementation and to evaluate their traffic safety effects. For this purpose, traffic accidents at selected interchanges were analysed, and the geometric and spatial conditions for the installation of arrester beds were examined. The results show that their implementation is feasible at a large number of analysed locations, particularly at interchanges with greater spatial availability, such as cloverleaf and trumpet types. A case study of a proposed arrester bed at the Novo mesto – Osredek interchange was also developed. The results indicate that arrester beds significantly contribute to reducing the severity of traffic accidents, particularly by decreasing the number of accidents involving minor and serious injuries, as well as accidents resulting in material damage. In addition, the cost analysis confirms that, in the case study area, the implementation of an arrester bed represents a more cost-effective solution compared to protection using steel safety barriers.
