Abstract:V magistrskem delu sta predstavljeni eksperimentalna in numerična analiza mehanskega odziva štirih različnih endotrahealnih cevk, dveh različnih proizvajalcev, pri temperaturah 22 °C in 37 °C.

Title:Experimental and numerical analysis of local instability in an endotracheal tube
Abstract:This master’s thesis presents an experimental and numerical analysis of the mechanical response of four different endotracheal tubes produced by two manufacturers at temperatures of 22 °C and 37 °C. The aim of the study was to investigate the occurrence of local instability, or tube kinking, during a compression test and to develop a numerical model capable of reproducing the behaviour observed in the experiment. In the experimental part, a test system was designed to measure force as a function of displacement. Based on the experimental results, a finite element model was developed in ANSYS. The model included appropriate boundary conditions, contact interactions, and calibrated material properties. The results showed that temperature has a significant influence on the mechanical response of endotracheal tubes. At body temperature, their stiffness decreases, which increases the likelihood of kinking. Validation of the numerical model showed good agreement with the experimental results in the initial region of the force–displacement response. The numerical model also successfully predicted the deformed shape of the tubes and the most likely regions of maximum stresses.
