Empirični del temelji na primerjalni analizi izbranih avtobusnih prevoznikov v Sloveniji: Arriva Slovenija, Nomago, Avtobusni promet Murska Sobota, Ljubljanski potniški promet in Marprom. Večji prevozniki izvajajo širši nabor storitev in pokrivajo več segmentov trga, medtem ko so regionalni in mestni prevozniki bolj usmerjeni v potrebe lokalnega okolja. Segmentacija trga predstavlja pomemben dejavnik za učinkovito organizacijo in razvoj avtobusnega potniškega prometa.

Title:Market segmentation in bus passenger transportation
Abstract:This thesis addresses market segmentation in bus passenger transport in Slovenia and analyses the differences among selected bus operators according to the types of transport services, target passenger groups, and financing methods. The purpose of the research is to examine how market segmentation affects service organisation, transport operators’ performance, and the adaptation of services to the needs of public passenger transport users. The theoretical part presents the concepts of market segmentation, the characteristics of public passenger transport, different types of bus transport services, and the system of financing and subsidies. The empirical part is based on a comparative analysis of selected bus operators in Slovenia: Arriva Slovenia, Nomago, Avtobusni promet Murska Sobota, Ljubljanski potniški promet, and Marprom. The analysis includes a comparison of transport types, target passenger groups, and sources of financing. The results show that differences exist among operators in terms of service scope, user structure, and dependence on subsidies. Larger operators provide a wider range of services and cover more market segments, while regional and urban operators are more focused on the needs of the local environment. Market segmentation represents an important factor for the efficient organisation and development of bus passenger transport.
