Abstract:Diplomska naloga obravnava vpliv dodatne toplotne izolacije na energijsko učinkovitost pralnega procesa pri zmanjšani temperaturi pranja. Meritve so bile izvedene v dveh osnovnih primerih: brez dodatne izolacije in z nameščeno toplotno izolacijo z zmanjšano temperaturo pranja. Na podlagi izmerjenih podatkov so bile pripravljene tabele rezultatov in izračuni, s katerimi so bili primerjani čas ohlajanja in energijska učinkovitost posameznih primerov.

Title:Improving the energy efficiency class of a washing machine through thermal insulation and washing temperature adjustment
Abstract:This thesis examines the impact of additional thermal insulation on the energy efficiency of the washing process at reduced washing temperatures. The aim of the study was to determine whether reducing heat losses—while lowering the washing temperature—can improve the appliance’s energy rating without significantly compromising washing performance, i.e., while remaining within acceptable tolerance limits. Within the scope of the thesis, several experimental measurements of water heating and cooling were conducted under different operating conditions. The measurements were carried out in two main scenarios: without additional insulation and with installed thermal insulation combined with a reduced washing temperature. Based on the collected data, result tables and calculations were prepared to compare the cooling time and energy efficiency of the individual cases. Mathematical analyses and practical experiments were also performed for a defined quantity of water in a washing machine. The results show that additional thermal insulation reduces heat losses in the system and enables more efficient temperature retention of the water. It was found that, by using insulation in a low-temperature washing program, a better energy rating can be achieved.
