Abstract:Diplomska naloga obravnava dostopnost embalaže zdravil za slepe in slabovidne uporabnike ter priložnosti izboljšanja.

Title:Accessibility of pharmaceutical packaging for blind and visually impaired users and opportunities for improvement
Abstract:The thesis examines the accessibility of pharmaceutical packaging for blind and visually impaired users and explores possibilities for improvement. The main aim of the thesis was to identify the challenges users face in recognizing, opening and correctly using medications, as well as to determine which adaptions could contribute to safer and more independent use. In order to understand the topic, a review of domestic and foreign literature was first conducted, covering pharmaceutical packaging, legislation, Braille, tactile markings, ergonomic adaptations and digital solutions. This was followed by the empirical part, which was based on interviews and a questionnaire conducted among blind and visually impaired users. The research results show that existing pharmaceutical packaging still does not always provide users with sufficiently independent access to key information. The findings highlight the importance of incorporating Braille on primary packaging, introducing clear supplementary tactile markings, and implementing digital solutions. The proposed improvements could significantly enhance the accessibility, safety, and independence of blind and visually impaired users in the use of medications.
