Abstract:Trajnostna mobilnost v mestih postaja ključni dejavnik zmanjševanja prometnih obremenitev in emisij ter spodbuja uporabo multimodalnih oblik prevoza.

Title:Transition between sustainable mobility systems in Maribor and opportunities to improve the user experience
Abstract:Sustainable mobility in cities has become a key factor in reducing traffic congestion and emissions while encouraging the use of multimodal transport. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to determine whether the concept of multimodality functions effectively in Maribor and to assess how well different sustainable mobility systems are interconnected. The research is based on criteria such as accessibility between transport systems, the synchronization of timetables, and the level of integration of information and payment systems. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the fundamentals of the Mobility as a Service (hereafter: MaaS) concept, examples of good practices in integrated payment systems, and the factors that influence users' decisions to combine different modes of transport. The analysis examines walking distances between transfer points, the coordination of timetables, and the degree of integration of information and payment systems. Based on the findings, several improvement measures are proposed, including the implementation of the MaaS concept in Maribor, the introduction of an integrated regular-interval timetable system, and the development of mobility hubs together with the optimization of transfer point locations.
