Abstract:V teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge smo definirali pojem pravljica, predstavili opredelitve različnih avtorjev, njihovo delitev, zgodovino, nastanek. V praktičnem delu smo izvedli šest bralnih dogodkov, v skupini otrok drugega starostnega obdobja, starih 4 leta. Namen diplomskega dela je bil ugotoviti in primerjati, kako štiriletni otroci razumejo vsebino izbranih ljudskih, klasičnih avtorskih in sodobnih avtorskih pravljic. (Fran Levstik in Dreja Novak, 2021).

Title:Fairy Tales in the Preschool Period
Abstract:In the theoretical part of the thesis, the concept of the fairy tale was defined, and various definitions and classifications of fairy tales, their historical development and origins, the Slovenian fairy tale, fairy tales in contemporary society, fairy tales as a developmental stimulus, the themes of good and evil in fairy tales, and the role of fairy tales in strengthening self-confidence and overcoming fears were presented. In the empirical part, six reading events were conducted with a group of children in the second age group, all aged four. The purpose of the thesis was to determine and compare how four-year-old children understand the content of selected folk tales, classical literary fairy tales, and contemporary literary fairy tales. Children's comprehension was examined in terms of their recognition of literary characters, the setting and key events, as well as the extent to which they relied on illustrations when explaining the content. The research was conducted using the folk tales Piskrček, kuhaj kašo and O treh sinovih in mucku, the contemporary literary fairy tales Jure Kvak Kvak (Saša Vergi and Kostja Gatnik, 2021) and Muc Mehkošapek (Bina Štampe Žmavc and Svjetlan Junaković, 1998), and the classical literary fairy tales Sovica Oka (Svetlana Makarovič and Gorazd Vahen, 2017) and Kdo je napravil Vidku srajčico? (Fran Levstik and Dreja Novak, 2021).
