Abstract:Prometna signalizacija je pomemben element cestne infrastrukture, saj udeležencem v prometu posreduje informacije, potrebne za varno in nemoteno odvijanje cestnega prometa. V diplomskem delu je predstavljena vloga vertikalne cestnoprometne signalizacije, obravnavane so zahteve glede postavitve, vidnosti, vzdrževanja in retroreflektivnih lastnosti prometnih znakov. S terenskim pregledom in meritvami koeficienta retrorefleksije so bile preverjene ustreznost postavitve, ohranjenost, vzdrževanost in svetlobnoodbojne lastnosti prometnih znakov. Ugotovitve poudarjajo pomen rednih pregledov, ustreznega vzdrževanja in pravočasne zamenjave prometnih znakov za zagotavljanje njihove dobre vidnosti in večje prometne varnosti.

Title:Adequacy of vertical road traffic signs in the Pernica area
Abstract:Traffic signs are an important element of road infrastructure, as they provide road users with the information required for the safe and efficient flow of traffic. This diploma thesis presents the role of vertical road traffic signs and examines the requirements concerning their placement, visibility, maintenance and retroreflective properties. Particular attention is paid to the effects of human visual perception, lighting conditions and the physical condition of road signs on their timely recognition. The practical part analyses the condition of selected vertical road traffic signs in the Pernica area. Field inspections and measurements of the coefficient of retroreflection were used to assess the placement, physical condition, maintenance and retroreflective performance of the signs. The results show that most of the examined signs are in satisfactory condition, although certain deficiencies were identified in their placement, maintenance and retroreflective properties. A comparison of the measurements according to the age of the signs, the type of retroreflective sheeting and their location did not indicate that their condition was determined by any single factor. The findings emphasise the importance of regular inspections, appropriate maintenance and the timely replacement of road signs in order to ensure good visibility and improve road safety.
Keywords:vertical traffic signs, road signs, retroreflection, coefficient of retroreflection, retroreflective sheeting, road safety.
