Title:Methods and techniques of clinical social work supervision in Pomurje and Maribor
Abstract:The following thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part presents various definitions of supervision for school counsellors, theoretical models and methods and techniques deriving from them. It is evident that in practise we cannot find same models defined by theoreticians, mostly because the supervision as a process focuses on the needs of the people included in the supervision. School counselling is only one of the areas which require this type of professional training. Otherwise supervision can be found in all other professions that provide counselling to people and professions in constant contact with people. The reason for this is to prevent stress and consequent burnout, as well as ensure high quality treatment to service users. In order to show why stress occurs, the role of counsellors in educational institutions is presented. In the empirical part we checked how often counsellors are involved in supervision and how they want it to proceed. We focused on the comparison of two areas, Pomurje and Maribor and the comparison of the obtained data according to the seniority of counsellors. The main difference reflected is the fact that in the area of Maribor counselling workers are more often included in the supervision and that with seniority the desire for supervision decreases in both areas. The counselling workers prefer the user focused model, which is the educational model of supervison. According to theoreticians this model is also most frequently used.
