Negovalni problemi so se pokazali predvsem v naslednjih življenjskih aktivnostih: izločanje in odvajanje, gibanje in ustrezna lega, spanje in počitek, izogibanje nevarnosti v okolju, komuniciranje in izražanje čustev. Problemi, ki so bili še posebej izraženi pri pacientu ob opravljanju vsakodnevnih aktivnosti, so bili motnje spanja, nevarnost za poškodbe in socialna izolacija. Na odločitev za zdravljenje so vplivali naslednji dejavniki: vpliv zdravnika, številne zdravstvene težave in majhna vnuka, ki zahtevata veliko njegove pozornosti.

Title:ALCOHOLISM AND OLD PEOPLE
Abstract:The final thesis represents the problems of alcohol dependence, the disease which affects not only an individual but the whole family. Therefore it is of great importance for the medical treatment to include the patient’s family as well as the patient. Alcohol dependence is a disease which should be prevented and treated properly. Central theme of the final thesis is alcohol dependence with the senior. Only a few seniors decide to get a medical treatment in order to stop alcoholism. However, the treatment is very perspective, the results show that the seniors accept the treatment well, and the efficiency of treatment might be even better than with younger individuals. On the basis of studying the example, based on conceptual model of Virginia Henderson, the most frequent nursing problems considering the senior with alcohol problems as well as his reasons to get medical treatment are represented. Nursing problems are manifested in following vital activities: secretion and purgation, exercise and proper position, sleep and rest, avoiding the risk of environment, communication and expressing the feelings. Major problems, appearing with the patient practising his daily activities, were sleep disorder, risk of injury and social isolation. Following factors influenced the patient’s decision to seek for medical treatment: doctor’s ascendancy, health problems and two young grandchildren who acquire his attention.
Keywords:alcohol dependence, senior alcoholism, patient, preservation of health, nurse.
