Abstract:Obrestna zamenjava je najbolj pogosto uporabljena vrsta zamenjav. Je dogovor o zamenjavi plačil obresti v prihodnosti. Pri tem lahko gre za zamenjavo fiksne obrestne mere za spremenljivo ali pa za zamenjavo dveh različnih spremenljivih obrestnih mer. Fiksne in spremenljive obresti se izračunajo s pomočjo navidezne glavnice za določeno obdobje. V obrestni zamenjavi pa ne prihaja do zamenjave navidezne glavnice, izmenja se le razlika v obrestih. Obrestne zamenjave se uporabljajo za transformacijo posojila s spremenljivo obrestno mero v posojilo z fiksno obrestno mero ali obratno. Lahko jo izvedeta stranki neposredno sami ali pa s pomočjo posrednika. Prednosti obrestnih zamenjav so likviden trg, da so lahko izvedene za daljše obdobje in lahko služijo kot instrument zavarovanja. Zraven klasične obrestne zamenjave, pri kateri gre za zamenjavo fiksne obrestne mere za spremenljivo, poznamo še zamenjavo osnove, terminsko zamenjavo, opcije na zamenjave in še številne druge.

Title:INTEREST RATE SWAP
Abstract:The most common type of swap is interest rate swap. Is agreement in which counterparties exchange a steam of interest. They can exchange fixed for floating rate, or floating for floating rate. Fixed and floating interest is calculated with national principal for a period of time. In interest rate swap, national amount is not exchanged, only the net amount in interest is exchanged. Interest rate swaps can be used to transform a floating rate loan into fixed rate loan or vice versa. Swaps can be arranged between counterparties alone or with the help of financial institution. The advantages of interest rate swaps are liquid marked, they can be quoted for long period of time and they can be used as hedging vehicle. In addition to plain vanilla, fixed for floating interest rate, we know basis swap, forward swap, options on swaps and others type of swap.
