Abstract:Spremembe, globalizacija, e-poslovanje, telekomunikacije in virtualni svet povzročajo okolje, v katerem se morajo organizacije neprestano in hitro prilagajati trgu.

Title:LEADERSHIP IN MODERN ORGANIZATION
Abstract:Regular change, globalization, e-business, telecommunications and the virtual world create an environment in which organizations must constantly and quickly adapt to their markets. The culture of a contemporary organization is based on continuous acquisition, exchange and implementation of knowledge. Employees can feel the pressures and trends forcing them to adapt to new working methods. In such an environment, managers are required to master a series of skills and expertise in order to successfully head an organization. Contemporary organizations are in need of self-confident and qualified leaders and empowered employees linked by an open communication system. A contemporary leader is a person dedicated to their job, organization, employees and true to their values, as well as good interpersonal relations. They must also have a clear vision of which direction they want to take their organization in. They dedicate ample time to their employees because they are aware of the power knowledge and skills of individuals bring to the common progress of the organization. Furthermore, a leader is a person who applies their characteristic features, abilities, knowledge and style of leadership to influence the atmosphere within the organization and who is a key figure in terms of implementing the organization’s strategy and ensuring its success. As it is clear in the diploma paper, leadership is becoming an increasingly important feature of management. Managers-leaders play an important role, as they are required to be familiar with the key management skills, such as dealing with people and knowledge. Leadership as the part of management where managers apply vision and inspiration in order to make their employees follow their direction is acquiring an ever more prominent role.
