Keywords:Komunistična partija, volitve v ustavodajno skupščino, "protiljudski elementi", skrivači, špekulanti, ilegalni kanali, cerkev, intelektualci.

Title:»ANTI-PEOPLE'S ELEMENTS« IN MARIBOR IN THE YEARS 1945-1948
Abstract:Summary The end of World War II represented a milestone in Slovenia, not only for the winners, but also for the defeated. The communist party tried to obtain a dominant position on the political map and successfully did so. After the war the party continued to wage a war against real and fictive enemies. Those were not only politicians of parties, other than the communist party, but also ordinary people, who became victims of the new political system. A lot of them supported partisans during the War, but found themselves at the disfavor of the communist government, either because of their social status, political color, nationality or religion. This was also the case in Maribor that was an excellent starting point to defect into Austria, because of its' proximity to the border. Because the national liberation army was not so deeply rooted in Maribor and particularly in its' surrounding areas, there were many such "enemies of the people". That is why the communist government tried to contain and uproot them as much as possible, because it wanted Maribor to become the defense of the northern border.
Keywords:communist party, elections for constituent assembly, »anti-people’s elements«, hiders, speculators, illegal channels, the Church, intellectuals
