Z analizo demografskega stanja posameznega območja in naselij znotraj njega bodo pridobljeni podatki za natančen vpogled v demografsko stanje in razlike znotraj proučevanega območja.

Title:DEPOPULATION IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SLOVENSKA BISTRICA
Abstract:Intensive economic progress in the second half of the 19th century has influenced the development of the new industrial centers that were providing new jobs opportunities, followed by the strong migration and concentration of the population. Settlement pattern was gradually developed in the areas, where the population increased and in the depopulated areas the number of people was constantly reduced. These were mainly the agrarian and peripheral areas, which stagnated due to distances from the new centers or due to the undeveloped infrastructure connecting them. Agricultural activities in the rural areas were losing the economic power, with the decrease of active population and the increase of old population. That was constantly reducing the economical prospects of those areas. Such trends are found also inside the Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica. Relief diversity has affected the picture of the population density within the area in recent decades, however, the strong migration trends moved towards the new industrial and economical centers. From the hilly south-west area of Pohorje the population moved, leaving behind the landed properties and homes. Even before the small villages lost their population due to migration, farms that used to be strong with numerous families, have already become part of the past. Settlements in the municipality are sorted, due to their location and size, in three areas with the similar demographic characteristics and trends. With the demographic analysis inside each area and settlement, the figures and data necessary to make out the demographic pattern and differences will be made.
