Abstract:	Planiranje v organizacijah se prične s proučevanjem okolja podjetja, tako notranjega, kot tudi zunanjega. V podjetjih je zavedanje o pomembnosti raziskovanja že na visoki ravni, med tem, ko v javnih zavodih, planiranju in s tem proučevanju okolja ter konkurence, še vedno posvečajo premalo pozornosti. Prvi del magistrskega dela je teoretičen. V njem predstavljamo nekatere pomembne metode in modele za proučevanje zunanjega okolja organizacije, s poudarkom na podrobni proučitvi Porterjevega modela petih silnic. V drugem delu teoretičnega dela magistrskega dela proučujemo posebnosti javnih zavodov s področja vzgoje in izobraževanja, pri čemer se osredotočamo tudi na upravljanje in vodenje v omenjenih zavodih. V praktičnem – aplikativnem delu magistrskega dela prikažemo uporabo Porterjeva modela petih silnic za področje vzgoje in izobraževanja. Pri praktični izvedbi Porterjevega modela petih silnic izhajamo iz primera Ekonomske šole Murska Sobota. Za le-to smo pred Porterjevim modelom pripravili tudi strukturno analizo zavoda, ki nam služi kot osnova, za presojo uporabnosti Porterjevega modela petih silnic za področje vzgoje in izobraževanja. Kot osnovno, za izvedbo Porterjevega modela petih silnic na področju vzgoje in izobraževanja, smo uporabili Porterjev izvirni model (Porter, 1998).

Title:	THE EVALUATION OF THE APPLICABILITY OF PORTER'S FIVE FORCES FRAMEWORK IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION
Abstract:	Planning in the organizations begins with examining the environment in the company, both internal as well as external. The companies are aware of the importance of research already at a high level, while in public institutions they still do not pay enough attention to planning and consequently the study of environment and competition. The first part of the Master's thesis is theoretical. It presents some important methods and models mostly for the study of external environment of the organization, focusing on a detailed examination of Porter's five forces model. In the second part of the theoretical part of the Master's thesis we study specific features of public institutions in the field of education, with focus on management and leadership in these institutions. In the practical – applied part of the Master's thesis we show the use of Porter's five forces model in the field of education. For the practical implementation of Porter's five forces model we stem from the case of the Secondary School of Economic in Murska Sobota. Before using Porter's model, we have prepared a structural analysis of the institution as a basis for assessing the applicability of Porter's five forces model in the field of education. As a base for the implementation of Porter's five forces model in the field of education, we used Porter's original model (Porter, 1998).
