Abstract: Čedalje bolj pogosto v vrtcih slišimo, da so nove generacije otrok drugačne, nemirne, neposlušne, težje vodljive.

Title:INDIGO CHILDREN - AWARENESS OF THE TOPIC IN PRESCHOOL EDUCATION IN SLOVENIA
Abstract: More and more often, we can hear that the new generations of children are different, turbulent, unruly and difficult to control. Educators report that their work had become more difficult. In the eighties, in the U.S. the theory of the indigo children emerged. This label has in the following decades become a synonym for "different", "difficult", "new" children around the world and also in Slovenia. It became familiar through the media and professional circles. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the knowledge of these issues, so-called indigo children in preschool environment in Slovenia. To this end, the survey was conducted. The assumption of the survey was that children today really are to some extent different and that their difference matches the properties of indigo children as described in the literature, which was demonstrated by the survey. The hypothesis claiming that educators who understand the concept of indigo children and use alternative teaching approaches in their work, have less "problems”, was partly proved.
