Abstract:V diplomski nalogi smo želeli prikazati, kolikšna je vključenost retorike v ure slovenščine v zadnjem triletju osnovnih šol in v splošnih gimnazijah.

Title:The inclusion of rhetoric in Slovene language lessons in the last triennium of primary schools and in grammar schools
Abstract:In this diploma work we wanted to show the inclusion of rhetoric in Slovene language lessons in the last triennium of primary schools and in grammar schools. We limited our analysis on both valid curricula and specific textbooks for particular line of education. Current legislation defines rhetoric as one of obligatory selective contents in the 9th grade of nine-year primary school. A teacher has different options for forming inter-subject connections which make learners form integrated view on specific contents and better linking of various school subjects. Valid curricula define many possibilities for inter-subject connections of rhetoric and Slovene language, which are not always obvious enough. We can find more specific linking of different contents in primary and grammar schools’ reading-books. Certain textbooks allow a lot of freedom in including rhetoric elements in Slovene language lessons, but there are no complete instructions how to form a good speech to be found. A good speech is based upon content and appearance, which is not emphasized enough in textbooks. There is not enough emphasis on arguments, mimicking of hands, head and poise in general and on methods of constructing and remembering the speech. Most of rhetoric elements are included in Slovene language lessons, but unfortunately teachers and learners are not attentive enough to see them.
