Abstract:Brezposelnost in inflacija sta nedvomno dve zelo pomembni determinanti, ki kažeta, kako uspešno je gospodarstvo. Ekonomisti si glede teh dveh determinant niso enotni.

Title:Unemployment and inflation in selected countries of the European Union
Abstract:Unemployment and inflation are certainly two very important determinants, which show how well the economy is. Economists are not on the same side about these two determinants. Some argue that it should be at the expense of higher unemployment rates reduce inflation, others argue vice versa. The “Phillips curve” shows the theoretical link between these two determinants. Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary and Poland have in common, that they went through the process of transition to a market economy. Structural and other institutional changes that accompanied this transition had an impact on the characteristics of the connection between unemployment and inflation. Some countries have struggled with high unemployment, the other with high inflation. Most countries have managed to reduce both determinants and get to a sustainable, market-economy comparable level. Research results are not affixed proposition that in all the countries can find a unified link between inflation and unemployment
Keywords:Inflation, unemployment, gross domestic product, Phillips curve, inflation expectations
