V zaključku so ponujene izboljšave in razlage.

Title:TRANSLATING PICTURE CAPTIONS IN NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE
Abstract:Translators have strived for centuries to preserve the original and to transfer key information into other languages and cultures. Even conquerors, travelers and couriers- all have tried this before. Misunderstandings have occurred many times when the original context was ignored. It remains the same today. A translator has to master the original and the target culture and its language, in order to successfully process any given information and transfer it into the target language. The same applies to the National Geographic translations. A key element of reviews and magazines are the pictures and their captions; these may be even more important than the text in the National Geographic Magazine, because with them we can achieve the successful transfer of information not only into the local, but also into the foreign culture. The captions under pictures make this process even easier, providing a better understanding of the visual text (pictures). The diploma paper defines and describes the captions, their stylistic and grammar comparison and provides commentary and analysis of the correctness or incorrectness of the translation. It concludes by offering improvements and explanations.
