Title:THE IMPACT OF REGULAR SPORT ACTIVITIES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF COORDINATION IN ONE- TO TWO-YEAR OLDS
Abstract:In the thesis entitled The Impact of regular sport activities on the development of coordination in one - to two - year olds, we wanted to determine whether regular, planned and professionally guided physical activity affects the development of co-ordination between one and two year old children. The theoretical part presents in detail the physical abilities of children and the co-ordination, the physical dimensions and extensions of children, the movement skills and the physical experiential environment. We have defined the physical activities in kindergarten and the competences of the pre-school educator in the field of movement/sports. The empirical part presents the results of the pedagogical experiment, where the children of the experimental group performed the planned and professionally guided physical activities with the emphasis on the development of co-ordination twice to three times a week, whereas the children of the control group only performed the physical activities described and planned in the pre-school educator’s annual lesson plan. The children were tested using four tests on movement skills. The results have shown that the children of the experimental group have advanced more and better after the completion of the experiment than the children of the control group.
