| Abstract: | The master’s thesis Film Adaptations of Pinter’s The Birthday Party deals with three films based on Pinter’s screenplay. The thesis relies on the theory of literary adaptation into film, with the focus on adaptation of plays. The thesis analyses two British films from 1968 and 1986 that were both worked on by Harold Pinter, and a Slovene film from 2003. The thesis compares the two British films and focuses on their differences and similarities. In addition, the research focuses on the comparison between earlier British films and the newer Slovene adaptation of The Birthday Party that was directed by Vito Taufer. |
