Podatki so bili pridobljeni s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika, namenjenega učencem tretjega in šestega razreda.
Keywords:glasba, splošna samopodoba, glasbena samopodoba, samoocenjevanje učencev, starši kot dejavniki samopodobe, vpliv glasbe na otroka.

Title:MUSICAL SELF-IMAGE IN REFERANCE TO CHILDREN'S AGE AND PARENTAL ENCOURAGEMENT
Abstract:The purpose of the thesis was to get familiar with the development of self-image in general and of the musical self-image of the students. By examining 180 3rd grade students and 180 6th grade students we studied the level of the general and the musical self-image according to the children's age and their parents' encouragement. We tried to establish whether the general and the musical self-image increase with children's age and the possible differences between the 3rd and the 6th graders in the encouragement of the general and the musical self-image from their primary social environment. In the theoretical part, we presented the general self-image, the musical self-image, the parents' influence on both and the differences in both between the two age groups. For the practical part, we used a nonexperimental pedagogical research method. The research included 320 students from three different primary schools. In line with the set hypotheses we established that there are statistically characteristic differences in the general and the musical self-image according to the grade, namely the 3rd graders have a distinctively higher general and musical self-image than the 6th graders. Hence we were able to confirm the hypothesis of the correlation between the general and the musical self-image and the children's age; the 3rd graders made a better self-efficacy of the both self-images than the 6th graders. With the help of the Mann-Whitney test we established and partly confirmed the hypotheses which claim that there are statistically characteristic differences in the general and the musical self-image between the students who receive a lot of encouragement from their parents and those who don't; the differences in the general self-image between the two grades were evident in questions, such as »I excel at all school subjects.« and »I believe I'm very successful.« and in the musical self-image in questions, such as » Playing music makes me happy.« and »Playing music relaxes me.« The Mann-Whitney test also confirmed the hypothesis that there is a correlation between the general and the musical self-image according to the encouragement from the parents; the children whose parents encourage them to play music had a higher general and musical self-image than the ones without the encouragement.
Keywords:music, general self-image, musical self-image, students' self-efficacy, parents as a self-image factor, the influence of the music on the child.
