Abstract:
Podnaslavljanje je posebna kategorija prevajanja, pri kateri se avtorji srečujejo tako z prostorskimi kot časovnimi omejitvami in morajo biti zaradi tega še posebej spretni ter iznajdljivi. Diplomsko delo obravnava podnaslavljanje na podlagi ameriškega filma Forrest Gump, pri čemer se osredotoča na prevajanje besedne figure primere v posameznih podnaslovih. V teoretičnem delu so podrobneje opisana pravila in načela podnaslavljanja, besedna figura primera in film Forrest Gump. Empirični del pa zajema analizo posameznih primerov besedne figure v podnaslovih in primerjavo izvirnih različic podnaslovov s slovenskimi podnaslovi.

Title:
TRANSLATION OF THE FIGURE OF SPEECH SIMILE IN THE MOVIE FORREST GUMP
Abstract:
Subtitling is a special category of translation, where authors are faced with space and time limitation and therefore have to be very skilled and inventive. The graduation thesis discusses subtitling based on the American movie Forrest Gump, with the focus on figure of speech simile in subtitles. The theoretical part discusses the rules and guidelines for subtitling, the figure of speech simile and the movie Forrest Gump, whereas the empirical part presents the analysis of examples of the figure of speech in subtitles and the comparison of original subtitles with their Slovene equivalents.
