V empiričnem delu smo predstavili rezultate testiranja 123 otrok, starih 4, 5 in 6 let.

Title:Differences in fine motor skills and coordination of hands of younger children from the point of view of dominance of extremities
Abstract:The purpose of the thesis with the title Differences in fine motor skills and coordination of hands of younger children from the point of view of dominance of extremities was to check whether differences between left-handed and right-handed children exist in a selected motor ability. We also wanted to check the share of children, in the tested population, with the left hand dominant and the share of children with the right hand dominant. The theoretical part presents numerous theories and explanations of the phenomenon of laterality and consequential dominance of extremities. Decades ago, numerous theories had a negative view on left-handedness. Consequentially left-handers were considered less motor skilled than right-handers. The share of people with the left hand dominant is supposedly about 10 per cent. In the empirical part, we presented the results of testing 123 children of the age of 4 to 6. The dominance of extremities is most visible in the activities of hands; this is why we concentrated on this area of the body. When testing, we found out which of the child's hands is dominant and tested the level of development of fine motor skills and coordination of the hand. The results of testing revealed that there are no statistical differences between right-handers and left-handers concerning the level of development of fine motor skills and coordination of hands. This helped us get closer to the fact that there are no differences in motor efficiency between left-handers and right-handers. The share of children with the left hand dominant in our sample was about 10 per cent.
