Abstract:	V diplomskem delu predstavljamo yorkshirsko narečje, uporabljeno v romanu Wuthering Heights angleške pisateljice Emily Brontë. Roman danes velja za klasiko angleške književnosti, njegov prevod smo dobili leta 1962 izpod peresa Rape Šuklje. V prevodu narečja ni zaznati, pričujoče diplomsko delo pa ponuja poskus prenosa v narečje Kaple na Kozjaku. Za potrebe poskusa prevoda smo raziskali teorije o prevajanju romana ter analizirali yorkshirsko narečje v romanu in slovenske prevode delov, v katerih se pojavlja. Nato smo raziskali narečje Kaple na Kozjaku in lastne prevode prenesli vanj. Za to narečje smo se odločili na podlagi podobnosti, ki jih lahko najdemo pri obeh narečjih. Diplomsko delo ponuja analizo govora hlapca Josepha, pri katerem je stilna oznaka z narečjem najmočnejša.

Title:	THE ANALYSIS OF THE DIALECT IN WUTHERING HEIGHTS, AND AN ATTEMPT OF A STYLISTIC TRANSFER INTO THE SLOVENE DIALECT
Abstract:	The paper presents the Yorkshire dialect, used in the novel Wuthering Heights by the English author Emily Brontë. Today, the novel is one of the classics of English literature and has was translated into Slovene in 1962 by Rapa Šuklje. However, there is no trace of any dialect in the translation, thus this thesis presents an attempt to transfer the speech into the Slovene dialect of Kapla na Kozjaku. In order to achieve this, we did a research on novel translation theories and analysed the Yorkshire dialect in the novel and its translation. We also researched the dialect of Kapla na Kozjaku and attempted to use it as the target dialect. Our decision to use this dialect was based on similarities between the two dialects. The thesis focuses on the speech of the farm worker Joseph, whom the author gives the purest and strongest form of dialect.
