Abstract:S svojo magistrsko nalogo sem želela osvetliti prevladujoče stile komuniciranja in raziskati, kakšne so njihove značilnosti.

Title:COMMUNICATION STYLES IN AN ORGANISATION AND THEIR CHARACTERISTICS
Abstract:With my master's thesis, I wanted to highlight the prevailing communication styles and examine their characteristics. I primarily studied the characteristics defined by the existing literature as the most important in relation to each communication style (e.g. personality traits). The aim of my research was to check whether the individual characteristics in my sample can be associated with the styles as envisaged in literature. In the analysis, I found that there are no statistically significant differences between the communication styles in my sample, though the results sketched out the differences that might become much more evident if the sample size were to be increased. The master's thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. At the beginning, I listed all the theoretical concepts that could help me in the interpretation of the results. In the continuation, I focused on the research, its conduct and outcomes. To obtain the results, I used a communication style questionnaire designed by Možina, the PANAS questionnaire for measuring emotions, the BFI-10 questionnaire, which is the shortened version of the original Big Five Inventory, and a questionnaire on work commitment. In my sample, the predominant communication style was the integrator, followed closely by the analyst and the initiator. The least common communication style among the participants was the founder. Based on this, we can conclude that the majority of participants are focused on relationships and analytical thinking and are willing to lead, but are not open to change and innovation.
