Title:THE SUPPORT OF RELATIVES TO PATIENTS WITH DEMENTIA
Abstract:Dementia is a clinical state in which comes to declines in cognition functions such as a lost of memory, judgement, language and motorical abilities and also others intelectual skills. All these declines at the end disable a normal everyday life to a patient. The main cause for dementia is still not absolutely known. There are numerous factors of risk which are mutually interlace. Basic condition for good treatment is carefully made diagnosis. Lost of memory is the most recognizable sign of disease but every forgotten data does not mean that someone is having dementia undoubtedly. One of the earliest symptoms is also a mild form interruption of attention when patient is no longer capable in following conversations, especially in bigger groups. Therefore he`s moving away from society and losing interest for things that used to made him happy. Forgetfulness is accompainment with emotional crisis, sadness and apathy. In this work we wanted to find out if relatives are well known with formes of help and which are the most common phisical and pshycological changes that affect relatives. The result of research have shown that relatives are quite good informed with help, though they don`t know every form of help. Relatives have most timed noticed at themselves exhaustion, feelings of guilt, tiredness and disruption of sleep. The care for patient with dementia is most often taken by an adult children or spouse, rarely other relatives or friends. Taking care for a ill relative takes a lot of responsibility, energy, understanding and empathy for whole family but such presure cannot be handled by everyone so consequently it comes to another problems (overload, health problems etc.).
