Abstract:Diplomsko delo predstavlja značilnosti samoregulacijskega učenja s poudarkom na strategijah za samoregulacijsko učenje, načinih učenja geografije in vlogi učitelja geografije.
Keywords:samoregulacijsko učenje, dejavniki samoregulacijskega učenja, strategije za samoregulacijo učenja, kognitivne in metakognitivne strategije, načini učenja geografije, vloga učitelja

Title:SELF-REGULATED LEARNING OF GEOGRAPHY IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Abstract:The thesis presents the characteristics of self-regulated learning, with special attention devoted to the strategies of self-regulated learning, approaches to learning geography and the role of the geography teacher. The research data was acquired through surveying primary school pupils and interviewing primary school geography teachers. The results pointed to certain differences in the use of strategies of self-regulated learning and learning geography in terms of the pupil's age and gender. The results also suggested that self-regulated learning can be improved by developing the areas of academic self-concept, seeking help from competent persons, searching information and using relevant sources independently, performing active learning, employing strategies for effective learning, planning and organising the learning process.
Keywords:self-regulated learning, factors of self-regulated learning, strategies for self-regulation of learning, cognitive and metacognitive strategies, approaches to learning geography, role of the teacher
