Title:PROGRAMS FOR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS AND GRADUATES IN COMPANIES
Abstract:Achieving improvements depends on an established basis created from a learning environment which accelerates learning by combining experience and knowledge of different individuals’ levels and by enabling the opportunities to enhance them. The reality of Slovenian business practice does not reflect that. Instead most companies function with insufficient youth engagement and not enough awareness of the long-term benefits. Their business strategies do not include programs for students and graduates that would facilitate business integration and sound development, which underpins the future of the company. This thesis examines the integration of students and graduates with development programs in business environments of German companies that were rated as the most attractive employers. The focus is on the development programs conducted during the period of tertiary education and after its completion, at the start of the graduates' careers. This exceptional practice illustrates the attitude of these companies toward lifelong learning and the importance of a learning environment, and shows the long-term benefits resulting from development programs for both the business of companies and the personal development of individuals.
Keywords:business integration of students and graduates, programs for youth development, education and training, learning environment, lifelong learning.
